How Breeding Insulation Co. Knoxville Started:
Adolphus Mayes, our Founder – had over
55 years in mechanical insulation installation. He began
in 1954 as a field apprentice and went on to become a
journeyman and then field superintendent. He became branch
manager for the then multi-location Breeding Insulation
Corporation in 1977 and was able to purchase the Knoxville
office branch in 1984. It was his vision for quality workmanship
and honesty with his customers that has carried Breeding
Insulation Knoxville to its current success, and will continue to guide the company in the future. |

Our Current Core Team
Doug Mayes, , President (Senior Estimator/Project Manager) – Doug began as a field apprentice
in 1974 and became an estimator in 1978. Doug has successfully
bid and obtained work for over 35 years which has significantly contributed to the east
Tennessee skyline. See our project list for more details. |

| R. Scott Smith, Field Superintendent -
Scott has over 24 years experience in all aspects of the installation of
mechanical insulation and has worked up the ranks to become Field Superintendent
for Breeding Insulation in 2007. He has a solid background in the management of field personnel. |

| James (Ron) Rutherford, Sales Manager -
Ron began in the sales of insulation products in 1970,
moved to installation of insulation for 20 years and has
since returned to the sales & marketing aspect of
insulation. Due to his extensive experience of over 40
years, Ron has acquired a wide range of product knowledge
and materials application for a wide spectrum of uses. |
